(Q) My new Camp Oven seems to get too hot, even on low?

(A) Here are a few different ideas to address this issue.

1 - The Camp Oven does not have any feedback. This means you will have to control the temperature by adjusing the flow of gas using the valve (knob). It does not work like the oven in your house where you set the temperature to 300F and it will hold at that temperature. The thermometer on the front just let's you know the temperature, the stove can not tell the temperature.

2 - The oven will not heat up as hot when you actually have food in it and are cooking something. Once you get something in the oven to cook it won't heat up as fast or stay as hot.

3 - You can turn the oven even lower by adjusting the valve (knob)so that is points between the high and off position. You should play with this before cooking to get a feel for it. It is very sensitive but the burner can be turned down very low.
